Some posters here may have mentioned this before - my screen is yellowish when I look straight on but when tilted it looks clearer and less warm. Is this normal for OLED? I tried adjusting the Colour Filters by enabling Colour Tint but it looks artificial. Should I try to go to the store to ask for an exchange? Quite annoying especially when you paid so much..

(Both True Tone and Night Shift are off. TG protector is fully clear.)

Mine is worse than yours.
I refunded mine yesterday.
Will wait 3-4 weeks for them to iron out the issue.
Check out my post in the "Regret ipx purchase thread"

It is very easy to notice because whites will look yellowish, it is very obvious in sites like hwz. :s22:

I don't see it as "yellow" tint. Yes i do see the difference between looking straight and slanted at an angle. But the so called yellowish tint looks more comfortable looking and less strenuous to the eyes (with true tone and night shift off of course)

Every manufacturer first OLED phone will come with drawbacks. OLED itself has quite a no of drawback. I don’t know what’s with the suddenly every phone have to go OLED mentality but I personally not a fan of OLED.

If my memory serves me right, there are a few phones which is first OLED for the company but didn’t get great review due to bluish or yellow tint or etc...

1. Redmi Pro
2. Mi Note 2
3. Samsung Galaxy Note 1
4. Samsung Galaxy Note 2
5. Samsung Galaxy
6. Samsung Galaxy s2
7. Samsung Galaxy S3
8. LG G flex
9. LG G flex 2
10. Elephone
11. Blackberry Priv
12. Dell venue series
13. Nokia Lumia series
14. Nexus 6P by Huawei
15. Oppo R7

The list go on and on... all these company went thru the AMOLED shitty period thingy and some improved tremendously like Samsung having the Note 8 and some are still struggling like Xiaomi and the Google Pixel 2 and LG but it will get better...

Apple is no difference... they too have to go thru this shitty period, the question is how many generation do they need to take to get the AMOLED thingy right? The bluish tint and the yellowish or whatever Color that iPhone X consumer are not accustomed to have been there many donkey years ago. I wish apple can just tell them if you Wan OLED then accept the flaws it has but sadly Apple can’t say it. So they have to think of ways to sugar coat it which i felt is bit too much... when Oppo R7 AMOLED had the same problem... no one bother to explain and then the R9s is the huge success for them ultimately.

So let’s just wait a while for Apple to get OLED correct. Meanwhile there is not much choice also but to wait.

actually.. Apple did.

About the Super Retina display on your iPhone X

If you look at an OLED display off-angle, you might notice slight shifts in color and hue. This is a characteristic of OLED and is normal behavior. With extended long-term use, OLED displays can also show slight visual changes. This is also expected behavior and can include “image persistence” or “burn-in,” where the display shows a faint remnant of an image even after a new image appears on the screen.

cover backside nicely liao. jus waiting for class action lawsuit.
for 10 years. Apple has never published such a piece talking about the imperfection of the display panel they used.
because it is expected to be good.

well. not this time.

If burn in will get lawsuits then Samsung user will be the first to sue Samsung... the burn in of galaxy S3... the nexus S.. the Galaxy S2...

Burn in are part and parcel of OLED... even a $4000 LG TV get burn in too... 🙄

I find the true tone too yellowish. It’s kinda like less yellowish night mode. Turning it off results in a way too blue tint. But there’s a way to improve the tint.

Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Display accommodations > colour filters

Turn on ‘colour tint’. Slide the hue (right at the bottom) to about 2/3 ways. What I did was use my ip6 to compare. There will be a point where the colour is close to white. Unfortunately it won’t be completely white like a retina screen.

S8/S8+/N8 all have bluish tint... It's OLED feature. However, if its too yellowish then good to ask for a swap since it is new.

Anyway, buck brick mentioned is correct.

Trust me if you used the iphoneX for a couple more days, you will get use to the bluish tint. My suggestion is lowered the brightness of your phone.
