Hi Guys! Thinking of getting the EVGA GTX 1070 during the Black Friday / Cyber monday weekend. Any feedback on the EVGA GTX 1070? Anybody got it from Amazon before? How's the RMA process? Good?

acx 3.0 cooler got problem, would avoid this until they rectify the issue

yeah, they didn't attach heat pads on the vram

Hmmm I see. But I thought I read in the news saying that EVGA has released a BIOS update? And would supply the thermal pad to customer.

bios update is because some user using mircon nand ram for OC on their GTX 1070 but will hit into some issues. den again if u dun OC the ram u wont have any issues.

next for thermal pad to their own country is free, but send to other country need to request your own forwarder to get that (i have seen someone saying that they (EVGA) told him about the way to obtain it.)

I will avoid EVGA for the time being, not because their brand is bad, but just to tide over this period of this overheating issue. Also, very troublesome to troubleshoot this and that. Open up install thermal pads etc..

Once this issue has been fully resolved and EVGA can confirm all their retailers inventory has been updated with new stocks, go ahead and buy.

Haha thanks for your advice! Waiting for black friday! Hopefully the price are attractive. But from what i read online, EVGA said that those newly shipped graphics card should have the latest BIOS update already.

According to EVGA

"Q. If my Graphics Card is not an ACX 3.0 design is it affected?
A. No, all other GPUs sold by EVGA including Founders Edition, Blower type, HYBRID, and HYDRO COPPER editions are unaffected."

It's quite easy to affix thermal pads so might as well just do so regardless of model. (This last part is me.)

So it mean any cards with ACX3.0 solution.

Anyway eVGA solution forward to this isn't that ideal.

Managed to emails to EVGA regarding the thermal pads and BIOS update. This is their reply,

'Any of our cards purchased from our site will have the new Thermal Pads and Vbios update installed to the card. Any cards purchased from retailers may not have them and I would suggest to ask the seller for the original/shipped date since any cards shipped before November 5th will not have them. If that is the case then you can contact us and we will either send them out to you or you can setup an RMa to have the card replaced with one that has them installed.'
