yah, most NTU students who go on exchange end up realising how strict the grading system is in NTU. and this really penalises us when we are being compared with foreign graduates for work/grad school.

i mean 3.5 out of 4.0 for my friends' average GPA at US universities, and those dean's listers get about 3.7 out of 4.0; and this is considering that most of the time over there is spent travelling.

yeah, but you just have to compare the % of 1st/2nd uppers overseas versus in NTU, and you'll see its a very different kind of curve we're talking about here.

Oh yeah. The cgpa is based on how many students from your sch wanna go over to study? Or based on how many students in ur uni competing for the slots?

dont understand your qn. ur cgpa (or CAP) in local uni is based on local uni course/students competitiveness lor. if you're talking abt cgpa cutoff point to apply for exchange, then it differs from uni to uni. in nus, COP is at least CAP 3.0 iirc. not sure abt ntu.

It's ok. I think I got my answer already. Coz I thought the no.of places depended on course. But it seems the no. Of exchange slots is irregardless of ur major.
