using easycard, full fare is 160 twd

Don't need to wait for express mrt, waiting time wasted so end up is about the same. Just take whichever come first.
Easy card can buy from the mrt counter.

By the way being random after hearing about the hsr and mrt from taoyuan to taipei.

Okay my trip is 13th May to 17th May. 0055 depart from sg. Then coming back is 15.45 dep from taoyuan. With the limited time i have, if lets say one of the day i from taipei take hsr all the way down to Kaoshiung and play, then take hsr back to taipei at night... Is it worth Cause i check the web, taipei to kaoshiung takes 90 mins and cost about 50sgd one way.

Any advice?

It is possible if u wake up very early and take the earliest train

Then catch one of the last few train when going back

I think more than 90 mins even if u take the most direct hsr

Day trip, take hsr all the way to KS then come back Taipei already cost more than $100 sgd. I don't think worth it lol.
Day trip to Taichung is ok but stay a night is even better cos fengjia can hang out very late.

You go how many days? There are still many places near to Taipei that can do day trip.
Keelung, Yilan, Miaoli and many more.
