yup few days back went arcade, think most stores no stock.
luckily changed few weeks back at 22.82 ...
that time my friend changed at 22.90

this few days keep checking bank rates in Singapore. Now both DBS and UOB hit 22.8. No bank charges as well but must have account to change

Oh really, Singapore bank no charge with account?? It's around 22.8 in DBS these few days. DBS Taiwan is around 23, but with admin charge..

Yeah! I asked them on Facebook and here's their reply.

Dear Brenda, thank you for reaching us through Facebook! There is no service charge in buying and selling of foreign currency notes at our branch. We wish to highlight that non-account holders are not allowed to perform purchase/sale of foreign currency notes at our DBS/POSB Branches. Waiting time for the exchange is between 30mins to 3 hours as the branch will need time to prepare the foreign currency notes. Hope this helps. Have a pleasant night! ~Clint

Which rates are you looking at? Cash transactions over the counter usually involve very poor rates. The bank will not calculate based on the TT/OD rates.

Hi Brenda, may if I ask whether are you checking the rate on their dbs website under foreign exchange? If yes, that's the TT rate and not cash exchange rate.

Initially I thought so too how come bank rate is better off than outside money changer? So I called up to DBS and check, the staff told me as of ytd, their cash exchange rate is 21.7

I called up taoyuan airport 1 of the bank money changer. Their rate is really better than change in Sg. Their rate today is 22.65 and they'll only charge a 1 time processing fee of NT $30!

I was considering if I should buy NTD from the Bank of Taiwan (BOT) currency exchange at Taipei Tao Yuan Airport.

But DBS Taiwan rate for cash is 22.9, just that got admin charge.

Check online can already...Both Megabank and BOT also charge NT$30 admin charge per transaction..

Not so sure, I also saw about this. But when I read thru forum, did mention about either NTD100 or 1%, whichever is higher. Or maybe can confirm with DBS Taiwan. If no charge, then it will be the best choice for this period.

I went to change at the TW DBS Bank on 3 Aug in Taizhong. They charged me 1 percent of the amount changed. Total they charged me about NT 1600 plus End up,the rate wasnt so attractive.

I still remember previously in Nov 2013, when i changed in TW DBS, there isnt any charge at all.
