hmm, if use sgd2000 as a base...

bank of taiwan sgd to twd is 22.2. so sgd to twd direct is 44400

bank of taiwan usd to twd is 31.11, so sgd to usd(1.398) to twd is 44506

only better by 100nt if u change sgd2k

Hi again, the method above gives a better rate. I had some NZ$ left over to change so because of that, I have to pay a separate NT30 charge. Just something to note. The rate on this website is accurate - http://rate.bot.com.tw/xrt?Lang=en-US.

I was also on SQ878 flight today. Seems like many of us were on the same flight.

Haa, so the guy in front of me exchanging SGD and NZD might be you.:).

Anyway, yah, USD rate to NTD has dropped.

For that little is not worth. Have to take the trouble to change usd and have to take the risk of usd fluctuations.

hmmmm cant be so little right just 100ntd different for changing S$2k.

how i calculate, for eg base on today Mega Bank rate
U$1 = NT31.17
S$1 = NT22.15
Changing SGD to USD in SPORE. U$1 = S$1.39

Using S$2000 as calculation, this will convert to U$1438.85
U$1438.85 x NT31.17 = NT44,848.92
NT44,848.92 / NT22.15 (e rate from 1 SGD to NT) = 22.42

So how much will u 'earn' if u use this method to exchg, using back S$2k as our base.
if chg in spore: $2000 x NT22 = NT44000
if chg in taiwan using the SGD-USD-NTD method:$2000 x NT22.42 = NT44840
There is a difference of NT840 which is abt S$38!!!!!.

Actually the rate is 31.19 today, is meaning you save more.

Of course not. If us$ drops too low over the threshold, you'd lose money vs direct conversion from S$.
