Just bought one of these things
Why is there a molex connector there?

Usually pcie slot itself supplies 75 watts right?
So this type is supply 75 watts + molex power?

If i dont use the molex cable, the riser itself will still supply 75 watts riggt?

Because you look at the riser cable and the soldering of wire to PCB u think that thing can carry the 75W specified for the slot?

Max output is still 75W, limited by the slot that connects to the graphics card.

Also the graphics card is not dumb, it knows when you never connect the 6-pin and will either refuse to power up or work in low-power mode.

All good quality riser cables wun have molex. If it does, perhaps it wasnt designed that well, thats y use molex for more power?? I rather pay more for branded or well known good quality riser cables.

Riser without molex will transmit power also right? Does it reduce by a lot if the riser is long like 30cm? Due to resistance or something

Length should not matter coz got some is at 30/60/90cm (TT). Go take a look at Cooler master, lian li, thermaltake, cablemod risers. All dun have molex.

For your question, u should go ask your seller on why the riser cable you bought have this molex. They should be answering you since they sold this design to you in which none of the major brands are following.
