Apparently, in the United States, only 30% of the F-35 fleet is mission capable at any point in time. The rest of the planes have to be in maintenance or need repairs. This latest figure from US representative Gaetz (available on his Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/repmattgaetz/reel/C6ZJatpAbFb/) is worse than the figure of 55% given by the US Government Accountability Office in September 2023 (here: https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-23-105341). The difference may be due to the fact that the GAO was measuring for when an F-35 can perform one of its mission goals while Gaetz was asking about when it is fully mission capable. I do recall that Singapore has F-35s. I would be very curious as to what the operational capability of our fleet is, although I'm sure it's a state secret. Still, one does wonder....

A sharp elbow is a cheaper weapon and always mission-capable.

Singapore's F-35 operational capability is officially zero. Since not delivered yet. No need to wonder.
