Pm Lee say COE is proxy for road space, so they drive on our roads take up space for the weekend, and result in road closures so ppl who paid for COE cannot use the road.
So do the f1 cars pay for coe? Since COE so high now, is it raiding our reserves if the f1 cars not paying it?
Cannot be expect Singaporeans to pay through the nose for COE, then f1 car drivers can drive without it for the weekend?
Ppl gonna talk about all the benefits it brings, increased visitorship etc. But it also put more strain on our mrt infra at a time when it’s breaking down way too often due to road closures.
Unless a direct % of revenue from f1 goes into rail upkeep, else whatever ppl say about adding to the reserves and result in more money for rail upkeep is questionable.

So in summary, gotong royong for f1, COE for sinkies?

But but but lhl say coe is proxy to road space, and they’re clearly using our roads, broadcasted all over the world! How can this be allowed?

I hope MOT do the needful when it comes to renewing it and deduct COE costs from whatever bid we make! Cannot be road users subsidising f1 drivers right?!
