Facetime activation message

I have the same issue too.

Worst, the phone number detected by facetime is a wrong number.

Reported to Apple support but so far they are not able to resolve the issue.

But your image shows that Facetime is enabled. I think it’s $0.18 to send an overseas SMS to activate Facetime or iMessage for your phone number.

Not anymore. I think Apple have since moved their SMS verification to each country. Hence there's no more overseas SMS charges.

i notice this happens only when a different SIM card is inserted
if its the same SIM, even if you power off and on, it will not show this message pop up

Didn’t realise that, thanks for the info. I just got a new line recently and the SMS I sent was not recorded as a local SMS. I was still expecting to be billed for the overseas SMS.
