with all the retrenchment and unemployment, maybe is better to sign on. iron rice bowl, good sign on bonus, etc pay also good. Uni i heard go in is at least 4k which is already more than what i earning after 5 years now.....

but only problem is.....my whole NS life + reservist never pass before ippt!

If you cannot even pass IPPT, is more like broken rice bowl.

You have to pass ippt. That's one of the requirements for signing on as regular. Even if you manage to sign on, there will be ippt trainings on a weekly basis where if you still cannot manage to pass that weekly training, you will be deemed surplus to requirements and posted to somewhere else.

Signing on yet failing IPPT can be a mental stress as the result will be reflected in your ranking and promotion, as well as the people around you in camp (not only just a unit).

Seeing on one previous post, yes that you will remain as PTE as promotion to CPL has to be a "passed IPPT" unless you are medically unfit (aka perm down PES).

Even for promotion to 3SG and above, 2LT to LTA and above also requires a "passed IPPT".

In my point of view, you should consider signing on the Home Team instead if passing IPPT is a deep concern. This is all I can say.

Last time my unit got one CPT hentak there for years alr cus cannot pass IPPT. Last heard he throw paper already.

Physical fitness is one of the requirements in any army, you cannot pass want sign on is like someone who wants to drive taxi but don't have driving license.

cannot pass? they will put your on probation for first year, if still cannot pass, then bye bye.

If you can't achieve and maintain at least silver, bye bye promotion and bonus.

like this u still wan to sign? you think they will leave you jiak liao bee for 1 year? IPPT is also one of unit's KPI, CO sure make you train fitness every day outside of office hours. within 1 yr, you will own self leave.

Can't pass IPPT, no only rank tio hentak kaki, there's no performance bonus for you and worst part, tio pay cut

Not only that, you will become an eye sore infront of your OC, coz unit CO will be pressuring them to get all the regular under them to pass IPPT.

Even if they allow u to sign on, u better think twice...lol

Yes agreed with u! One has an intention to sign on as SAF regular whether in combat or service support vocations, at least try to attain a min PASS for IPPT otherwise it won't be a right rice bowl for him!

nah if its air force or navy pass ippt can liao.

they dont give a sheet, especially even for many regulars.

and they need people cause obviously a lot of girls wont even consider signing on unless their future/ career is hopeless one. hard to believe if they say they like to chiong sua and defend the country or some sheet like that :s13:

thats like half the population gone, and dont forget only citizens can sign on - no fts :D

thus if you want to sign, they will let you one. can even sign for life actually. the 6 year contract thingy is now BS one.

if you have degree and is occifer, you make tons of $$$ to sit in air con office and go for meetings:s12::s12:
