Failed IPPT, applying for exit permit.

Just called ns sg call center hotline to check. I have received an overseas permanent job offer within the last month and am going overseas next month for work indefinetly. My IPPT window closes in October.

Call center adviced me to try and clear 9 RT and 1 IPPT before flying or my exit permit may be declined as a result? That's not very viable considering that I will most likely be leaving Singapore within the next three-four weeks.

Has anyone ever encountered this sort of scenario? I was under the understanding that a valid reason to go overseas (thus qualifying for an Exit Permit) should waive me of all liabilities.

Best to check with your unit. Whether you can defer IPPT / ICT is up to your unit. NS hotline can only tell you the general guidelines. Ultimately they still forward your case / appeal / deferment to your unit.

Suggest you contact your unit's S8/DYS8 directly as it is more accurate and efficent.

As a first time (I've been assigned to HL SAF MP COMMAND and have not been called back since ORD), does anybody know how I can contact my unit's S8?

This was not my operation unit during my NS days, I was an outstation MP doing guard duty at Gombak.

call ns hotline they can get ur unit to call you

Just a quick update for others encountering this in the future, hotline was not able to provide me with S8/dy s8 details, requested for me to write in after calling for them to forward to unit. Will keep the thread updated.

I think it’s always getting them to get your unit to contact you rather than the other way round.

yep thats what's happening, the s8 will contact me to discuss further. Have sent in the email to them to forward to s8.

HL sounds like holding list.

i dont think your IPPT results has any bearings on exit permit application
