According to task manager, the 4GB ram was detected but half of it was reserved for hardware.

Currently using 2x 2GB ram stick in B1 and A1 slots. When I installed the two in B2 and A2 slots, mobo wont boot. Same thing for single ramstick at B1.

Does this means the mobo can only use RAM stick installed at A1 slot? If that is the case then how come the full 4gb is recognized in task manager?

Don't know what you are running that is using so much ram.
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and go to Task Manager and see what is using so much RAM.

Yes i overclocked by 1x multiplier (from 2.8ghz to 3ghz). Speaking of that, I did recall an error message when i went to BIOS the 1st time which said that OC failed. I have since set factory clock speed.

The screenshot was taken when I just entered desktop from boot. Nothing running in background other than kaspersky antivirus and some mouse utilities.

is it still 2gb hardware reserved after that? mine went back to normal after i set to stock. also, one of the ram slots wouldn't post if i used it alone but worked when other slots were used.

Ah okay, I installed back the 2 ram at original A1 and B1 slots and now all 4gb can be read already.

Im surprised a mild OC of 1x multiplier can cause this issue.. this was the first time I encountered this, u know why this occurs?

not sure, but 1156 motherboards are usually the ones to get this crap. maybe you can set the ram clock speeds to less than 1333 and see if it helps?
