Feedback on planned rig

Planning to build a new rig with these components, mainly for gaming
I already have a DVD drive and sufficient storage

Palit 670GTX jet stream 2gb ddr5
Asrock Extreme6 z77
i5-3570k processor
G skill ripjaw x (1866mhz) 8GB
650w power supply + corsair carbide
Corsair sp120 quiet edition 1450rpm x 2

Any improvements I should make or mistakes I made? Please help, I'm a newbie at DIY rigs

Do you intend to overclock? What is your budget?

A default high end gaming rig would be nice, don't like risking damage due to OC(quite inexperienced)
budget is around 1.5k

Z77 motherboards and "k" CPUs are unlocked for OC and are more expensive. If you don't intend to ever OC at all, getting a h77 board and a standard i5-3570 would be cheaper

Buy and build at Tradepac.

You might want to consider changing gpu to AMD, Powercolor 7970 V3 @ $496. Performance is better than GTX 670 and comes with free game bundles (Bioshock and Crysis 3) as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, I might change the case(just to look good) and stick to Nvidia
what changes should i make if i decide i wanna OC my new rig? (any additional fans or whatever you recommend to keep temperatures under control?)

Corsair sp120 is for heat sink fan or radiator. If u r using it for casing u should get af120 instead.

Depending on how far u wanna push ur cpu. U might want to consider water cooler instead of air cooler.

Sorry what do you mean by for heat sink fan or radiator / for casing? Do you mean the sp 120 is to be attached to a radiator or CPU heat sink and the AF is for attachment to the casing?

If you want an OC system, you will need to get K CPU, a Z77 motherboard and a aftermarket heatsink. These 3 items will cost at least another $150 on top of what I've recommended.
