Sharing my experience so far

I have to admit that PMP is the most challenging certification exam I have to study for since I started working, it is super dry, and getting all the online resources and books didn't really enable me to absorb as much as I thought that I could. My exam is less than 2 months away. Gawd.

my methods so far:

1. Get the 35 hr PDU course through Udemy and claim through SkillsFuture

2. Spend $129 register as PMI member and then $405 to book the PMP exam.

3. If you got audited like I did, be prepared to get your boss to endorse the projects that you have completed so far

4. After scheduling the exam on Prometric website, grab a used copy of Rita's PMP 8th Ed (updated) on Carousell and begin to burn the brain cells. (additionally i bought some other books, but end up Rita is still most direct).

5. I have to say PMP is a super super dry knowledge to attain, but gaining the knowledge, whether you pass the exam or not, will make you understand why some real life projects succeed and why some fail miserably.

6. If anyone in the next 2 months going for the exam and want to study together and staying in NorthEast area, I am willing to form a study group and help one another pass by sharing knowledge, because, doing this alone is really not .. fun.

Well, I am leading an operations team and also a part of a large scale project team. I pick up PMP so that I can influence the company to do projects more on par with PMBOK guidelines. This is because there are many projects that wasn't defined properly and have been stuck with problems with no end in sight.

it is not mandatory to be PMI member to sit for exam

I was quoted 1.2k jus for the course by ntuc. Is it a necessary to attend course conducted by Lecturers or we could jus do it with online resources? I am planning to take the certificate. I failed 2 times in citpm so I'm really worried if I can make it this pmp. Seeking advices from expert here.

it is not necessary to be a PMI member. But it will help you save 21 USD.

If I were you, I will retake citpm.

agreed. PMP is more brain and time consuming than CITPM. The knowledge tested is also more difficult as well.

Did you managed to claim the SkillsFuture credit successfully as I didn't see this Udemy couse listed.

Wish I saw this earlier as I would have joined you as I lived in the NE too.

if you are above 40, i think most of the course, you don't have to pay with future skill funding.

I see that the reviews for the training centres are quite dated. I'm planning to take the course in the next couple of months but I'm only available on weekends.

I see Comat and iKompass has weekend classes. Any reviews about them?

But a guideline will be about 21 points.
3 days training, 7 hours per day.
