Feedback on PMP course centre

Hi all,
I found the info on this thread helpful especially in figuring out what books to get.

Has anyone else taken the PMP certification recently? And what center did you attend the course from? I am torn between
1. NTUC learning hub ($2400+)
2. iKompass ($2600+)
3. ISS (NUS) ($3300+)

ISS seems abnormally high. I wonder why. But NTUC and iKompass are competitively priced so I wouldn't mind either one if it's recommended to be better.

What do you guys think?

PMI Membership Benefits for PMP Credential Holders

There are more benefits of PMI Membership for exam takers because the discount you get on the exam fee is more than the membership fee. After becoming a member, it's more of what you said - free resources (access to publications, white papers, industry reports, newsletters, career resources etc.).

You can certainly use your PMP designation without signing up for the membership.

their trainer is jeffry and i heard good reviews about him from my colleagues..

they also provide rita pmp exam guide and there is subsidy from wda ida & ntuc.

Hi all,

After reading through the thread and the related links (esp deepfreidnbrainproject's writeup), I understand that these are the more cost effective steps to get PMP certification. Of course, personal discipline and hard work will still be key.

1) Sign up for PMI membership
2) Get 35 hours of PM education via brainbok
3) Apply for PMP certifcation online with PMI
4) Book exam
- It seems that paper based exam is cheaper than electronic based exam? Anybody has more information on when (off office hours or weekend slot available?) and where the exams are held in Singapore?
5) Study
- I read that some books such as Rita's guide or Andy's guide are highly recommended so I will probably get one of these.
6) Take the exam and hopefully pass
7) Maintain the certification by meeting the minimum training hours required

Anybody knows if I can still use SkillsFuture or any grants if I do not attend the physical classes?

Appreciate any advices and tips.

Almost everybody in PM have PMP nowadays. It is more like if you do not have PMP, you will be left behind.

Yes, PMP spin off from IT sector, but it is now in any sector that require program management.

It is not limited to IT sector now. Of course, if you are administrator of any sector, you are unlikely to need a PMP for your work. If you are a Manager, or future Manager, PMP will benefit you.
