Prior to my previous thread,we are all required to fill whatever we have done on an excel at a shared space,daily. We are told if we don't do that the management will take it we did nothing n affect our bonus n increments. This is despite they knowing clearly how overloaded we are n that if we are even absent for a day,escalations will flood non stop. We barely have time to finish our work n clear all inquiries,let alone fill what productivity.

They can see the emails we sent n the reports we saved n all that. Yet still need this. I try to do as n when I can. But last 3 weeks,ie the time I really broke down n felt like quitting,was a particularly terrible period where there was so much work n ppl off on reservist or mc. We are so understaffed n they still can do n say this.

Personally I would have alre look out elsewhere long time ago if always understaffed. Want save cost but at the expense of the employee health.

In tech industry, if you are in an agile team, the scrum master will ask you to fill up the kanban or scrum board to track the tasks on hand for 2 weeks.
This is most used in local banks to track productivity of each team by the division HR, failure to fill in can result in being asked to leave or redeploy to another busier team.

On the sme side for SI industry, need to fill in time sheet to make sure that you are occupied with projects 80% of the month.
Failure to fill in can result in lower performance bonus.

In the back office side for a local securities firm, need to fill in excel to state which corporate action I was working on to ensure work load is equally distributed within the ops team.

So just go through motion and fill in before the start of each day.
