What do you mean by affordable? There are no charges involved for financial advices.. Only whether the person serving you is trustable and competent or not.

Will suggest that you could go around meeting a few and see who are you most comfortable with. Personally I would suggest a IFA, not because I am one myself, but rather because of the training and focus we went through.

Definitely there are good and bad ones so you have to see for yourself.

I was told that IFA carries limited products range. So your choices may be limited. Lets put it this way.
If you meet a good advisor carrying good products, you are good to go.
If you meet a good advisor but he carries not-so-good products, you may be shortchanged.
So it is good to look around. And i know it is difficult to 'research' and 'survey' all products in the market before making a decision.

i think IPP is a FA, but an IFA.
i am not too sure though...

IFA means indepedent... some FA carries a range of products but cant be called IFA coz they have extra incentives from certain insurers to promote their products, hence under MAS ruling, they can only call themselves FA.

I used to be an ex agent of a insurer... but now working in other sectors.. bought my gf and my insurance from IFA

What kind of financial advice are you looking for? I feel you should take help from banks like DBS which is the most trusted and safest method. They provide you with a bunch of financial services and help you plan your retirement, loans, working capital, overdrafts, savings & current account, bank cards etc. I hope this helps.
