Currently reading the book, Rich Dad Poor Dad, and it says find a financial advisor equipped to assist you in developing a written financial plan...

Is there such a profession in Singapore or only in US?

My impression of financial advisor in Singapore is that they are just insurance agents...

Any advise?

There are really financial advisors, ones who can plan for you. They are not your average insurance agents. That being said, I have met insurance agents who can and do plan finance for clients. They are rare

Just like a sales man. Cannot call them or no way near advisor status.
Advisor do not sell. They give you a full plan on what you should or should not do.

They are not financial advisors - just salesperson

They pretend to help you by offering their products and sometimes even twist the words and facts to reach their ultimate aim - Sell and hit their target
