Hi, not sure if this is a right place to post this, but I am currently taking part-time UOL course and have some free time in the day to study. Cos my flat downstairs undergoing renovation, s bit hard to focus with all the noise at home.

Wondering if anyone has any good recommendation as to where can get a good quiet spot to study?

Find those libraries that are not in shopping malls, normally they have quite substancial place for study .. got tables, power socket for laptops .. etc etc

so far when i study @ woodlands library, i didn't get chased away since there are many who goes there to study.

haha, lib was a previous personal experience thats y a bit scared. went bkt merah lib, had to sit on floor and use the bench as table.

after abt 1.5 hrs butt pain and legs numbed, end up called up my sch SAA to see got empty rm to study anot then swap over to there le.

national lib will haf chairs and tables anot ah?

If you live near serangoon, u can try the serangoon cc, the study room is fantastic, the table are spacious.
There are two serangoon cc, the one I am talking about is the serangoon cc near serangoon north. Membership is 12 per year, worth it. Near to coffeeshop, can have cheap meals.

Or you can try joining NUS library member for 3mths, cost about $45.00. Reference material is also available just that you can't borrow out any books. There is a lot of seats available. The benefit of NUS library is they open on Sunday and Saturday, Mon to saturday is open till 10pm. Maybe you may think 45 is expensive, but i find studying at library is very productive, i can cover more material at library having quiet study.
Food is cheap also. If you need to refer to any materials, NUS have quite a good selection, for teitary materials, it is better than NLB.

Or else u can go Singapore Poly library but now is their vacation, so their library is open till 6pm only.

well a good place will be the national library or your school library...

that what i did as my block is doing the IUP... being doing that for 3 years plus and still doing lots of drilling stuffs...

they seem to like to redo some of the areas...hoepfully will not up the est cost

Yeah but take note those hours not all year around. Right now vacation period (May-Aug), opening hours of NUS Central Library is only up to 7 pm from Mon-Fri.

Saturday open 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, Sunday not open.

Ya, the hours is only attractive during their semestral period which could go to 10pm. Other than that, like you said till 7pm.. not suitable for those revising for exams.

Public Library are always packed with people ... esp Sunday...
anyone went to any public library not packed with people on Sunday. (exclude reference section of Bugis NLB because own notes are not allowed inside)

Just go to the soc building at the 2nd floor . Fully air conditioned and open for public (no need card to enter)
