Mate, I'm sure I don't need to point this out to you, but crowdfunding is a way of raising capital as an alternative to selling shares or issuing debt. it's not a business model in and of itself unless you're talking about Indiegogo or Kickstarter.

Chill bro, you seems to be quite "obsessed" with me. Let me just share some websites with you and i hope you will understand by then what i meant by saying "is crowdfunding a viable business model?".

I'm sorry, no, I still don't understand what you mean by "is crowdfunding a viable business model" - because I still don't get how crowdfunding is a "business", as opposed to a fundraising channel. Is there something I'm missing?

It's just a choice of words i used. Actually what happened is this, i was joied for investing in a biz startup as a seed investor. So i was quite curious whether if a company raises funds through crowdfunding channel is it really viable. :)

So my rule of thumb for private-company investing - especially in the tech sector - is that if you can get access to something, you probably don't want to invest in it. If a company has to go to a crowdfunding site to raise money, that means it wasn't able to raise money from the bank; from friends and family; or from professional investors like VC firms. And that means it's probably a pretty ropey investment.

The biz is not helping ppl do crowdfunding, but rather they are asking ppl to help through crowdfunding for the biz. ;)

My friend,

You seems to lack of crowdfunding knowledge.

Of course the companies promise return when they ask for fund.

The problem is whether if they'll fulfill their promises.

There is a reason why banks don't want to lend them money and they've to come to you.

This is a high risk investment.

You can lose all your money without seeing a cent returned.
