First time building own rig!! Please advise!

hello everyone, very excited to be building my rig for the very first time. I did some research and came down to this spec, can I please have your advise on it? Mainly just to do work, play Dota, watch movies. Budget $1.5K. Any recommendation on where to get the parts from? I saw on newegg is quite cheap but ships from US so worried about warranty and if parts spoil have to send back? Thank you!

CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 3600 6-Core 3.6 GHz
CPU cooler: need?
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)
storage: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SATA 2.5" Internal SSD
storage: Seagate HDD Internal 1 TB BarraCuda SATA 3.5
GPU: MSI RADEON RX 5600 XT 6GB
Power supply: Corsair TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX
Wireless [REMOVE]: TP-Link TL-WN881ND 300 Mbps Wireless N PCI Express Adaptor

Right now, b450 motherboards are scarce in SG. Better check if there's stock.

Also, why use WiFi? If you need to, then just get a board with built-in WiFi.

For your boot drive, forget SATA, get an nvme drive like the WD Black SN750 on amazon.sg

WiFi not essential as my router is near, can connect directly. Maybe I just leave it for now and buy in future if required.

It's ALWAYS better to connect a LAN cable if you can. Don't waste money on getting a wifi motherboard unless you plan on moving it away from the router.

With regards to the NVMe SSD, your going for Gen3 not 4 so with or without should be fine.

Are you planning to add some bling? RGB fans etc? If so take a look at the NZXT H510i casing. If you don't want RGB then look at the NZXT H510 casing.

Okay thank you! Will leave out the wifi for now then. Probably carry a spare LAN cable in case one goes bust.

No need for RGB, I prefer to keep simple (unless RGB fans are better performance for same price?). Thank you for the recommendation!

No one would know the pricing or how much you will save. Also, rtx 30 series will be coming out soon in q3 I suppose and that would mean older gpu models will likely come down in price.

In short, it’s just a bad time to build a rig.

Mm got it thank you. Was wondering if there’s any idea of how much prices moved the last time a new release came out. Hadn’t realised about rtx 30, thank you for sharing

If your motherboard comes with an m.2 heatsink, then no need to waste money on the SN750 heatsink version
