First time building PC need advicee

Hi all,

I am trying to build a PC for the first time after checking out multiple websites these are the parts that I have currently decided on

CPU: i5 - 7600k
CPU Cooler: hyper 212 evo
Motherboard: GA -2170 gaming 3 ~ 7
GPU: MSI GTX 1060 6Gb or MSi GTX 1070 gaming x
RAM: G.skill aegis 8gb DDR3 or DDR4 [would consider getting 2x 8gb]
HDD: Toshiba 1TB 7200RPM
SDD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB [Optional, will only get if within budget]
PSU: FSP Hyrdro 650w
Case: appreciate any recommendation here thank you

Budget: $1500 can go higher if needed

what's ur existing monitor?

also, ur mobo can only take ddr4.

hi, thank you for replying

currently i'm building a pc for gaming purposes
games that i usually play are csgo, dota 2, overwatch and ark survival and a few AAA games
playing on ultra high settings is not a must for me but instead would prefer the computer to run smooth without major issues
especially ark survival since that game requires a decent gpu to play without any fps issues

i have yet to decide on a monitor but i'm looking on it currently and hopefully i can find a decent one

Using a i5 unlocked with a Z board doesn't exactly good since price could be matched with getting a non K i7 with a h/b board, able to get more performance with similar spending

GPU wise see your preference, if u aiming for brand then is alright, but if u want better warranty can consider Zotac (5year warranty) and is slightly cheaper

hmm alright thanks for the advice
the only reason why i'm getting a z board because i may want to get further upgrades only on the gpu and cpu when newer ones come out if i get a budget mobo i may need to change it if i want new gpu and cpu in the further
may I also ask how long does the MSI gtx warranty last may consider other brands if they have better warranty coverage

Think most is 3, Zotac 5.

U should really include your total budget with monitor to have a better estimate. The resolution and refresh rate of your monitor will determine what parts u should get.

Monitor u can try the aftershock prism monitors or the benq xl2411. U should budget around $500 for the monitors.

If u want to get 144hz, u need a minimum of gtx1070 at least. That's why u need to work out your entire budget

casing u dun need to think too much.

finalise the more important parts of your pc first (mobo,cpu, gpu). the rest is just icing on the cake.

Should seriously consider coffee lake chips imho unless you're in a rush to get the desktop done. Wait for the stocks to be up by next month or 2. Black Friday and Cyber Monday is around the corner so you can hoot some cheap storage and casings along with cpu cooler. Most of your games are favourably FPS so do get a TN panel. (Monitor type) You should get either the 1060 6GB because it's way cheaper than the 1070 or the 1080 8GB because it's very close in price to actually give it up especially if you are into AAA grade games. I wouldn't recommend 1080ti unless you want to expand your budget by alot because you need a better monitor as well. I am speaking in general of course!
