First time DIY build

I'll just start off with what I'm going to do with the build first.
Playing games like CS:GO and BF3 on high or medium, streaming, small amount of video editing, possibly programming in the future and random tests here and there.
So here's the build:
CPU: i5-4670 3.4GHz ($233)
Motherboard: Z87-G41 PC Mate ($159)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 ($99)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master TX3 EVO ($45)
GPU:GIGABYTE GTX650Ti 2GB BOOST ($251)
Storage: TOSHIBA 1TB SATA 3 7200RPM ($73)
PSU: FSP RAIDER 650W 80+ SILVER ($105)
Optical Drive: SAMSUNG 24X OEM ($21)
Casing: Cooler Master Storm Scout II ($139)
OS: M.S WIN-7 HOME PREM ($120)
Along with some random monitor that costs below $170.

Total cost should be about $1415. Used BestBuy's pricelist (Went to the store itself to check the pricing for casing and HDD)

The problem here is I'd like to pull down the price while maintaining the same casing, CPU and motherboard. Is it possible to build a similar rig but cheaper at another shop? If so, is it trusted?

Why do you need Z87 mobo? Try using pc themes pricelist....

Reduce psu to 550w

Can get the nzxt h230 silent case at $105 and below or sharkoon t28 at $89 and below.

Can try get deepcool gammaxx 300 at $39.

With that, try get 7870 myst or wait for new amd to release in sg. pricing will be competitive.

Might be trying out overclock in the near future and saw quite a few good reviews for Z87-G41 PC Mate. Are there alternatives to it?

if u wan to overclock then maybe u shld look at processors with k behind the model too.

U will need CPU with a k behind to do OC , and u need a good cooler as well for ur CPU , for ur budget it makes no sense to go for a OC build..

It would be best to decide now whether you want to OC or not. Dun waste money getting a non-k now and selling it later to get the k-series...

You don't need that z87 board. Pointless if you are not overcloking. Yet you are not using an oveclocking CPU.

And please a z87 mobo is not = good performance. The real difference in gaming would be gfx card and CPU.
