Exercise some common sense, don't reveal/show large amount of cash, if unnecessary, don't keep using your phone especially if it is high end smartphones like iphones/Samsung S3/4/Note/2, don't walk in dark alleys, always walk in open spaces etc

Budget Airline, is better to book from direct , such as Tiger or Airasia or Scoot or Jetstar :) Other non-budget airlines includes Thai Airways, SQ, Myanmar airways :)

when i went to bangkok i stayed at first house hotel and the period pratunam previously. Both are fine but the period is newer and nicely renovated. It's just slightly further from Platinum mall. Both are only barely 10 mins walk from platinum mall and cost about $40-50 SGD a night for 2.

For cheap flights airasia or tiger is your best bet, though airasia now flies to Don Muang Airport, which isn't so conveniently accessible via public transport (BTS). but you can take a taxi, which isn't expensive.

But sometimes non budget is also a cheap option.
Like SQ last month have promo to bangkok 196 net two ways.
Budget airlines prices are more expensive than that :)

hotels normally will book from hotelscombined.com
Then from there check if hotels.com or hotelclub got prices listed there or not. Then from there apply discount codes to have further 5-20% rates reduction.
Just booked a three stars hotel, agoda priced at 217, hotels.com after discount is 177.88 , expedia after discount is 177.

price from skyscanner trust worthy or not ? planning on going nxt week

Would say not that accurate. If budget airline got promotion , not really reflected inside. If you click that pricing, then link to xxx travel agency, the prices would increase.

Think normally u book direct is cheaper :)
Going through agent their package is quite expensive :)

If promo by budget airline + 3 stars hotel, you can get it for less than 230 for 3 nights. If buy from agent, think is around 300+
