Hi everyone. Sorry to create a new thread but the moneyface seems dead.

First time pc builder here, wanting to build a $800 gaming pc that can be used to code too. If necessary, willing to spend up to 1.2k(maximum). Will mainly be playing LoL, Valorant, CSGO, Minecraft and GTA5.

Would need the following parts:

CPU
GPU
RAM
SSD
HDD(if necessary)
Mobo
Case
PSU

Would much prefer to buy the parts online (amazon.sg, amazon us, newegg) during bf/cm but if needed, wont mind going down to sls too.

Thanks for helping this pc klutz :s22::s22:

doesnt mean the first post of that thread is irrelevant. do still look it up for a general guide.

that said though, $800 is not a lot. even 1k is just enough for a 3600 + 1650 super build (brand new), which is kind of middling. so it comes down to which one u want to compromise, cpu or gpu performance to fit the 800 to 1k range. also for ur games what are the target resolution and refresh rate?

Would a budget of 1.2k be better to work with?

for pc building, more is always better. 1.2k is quite reasonable, but again it will come down to your demands for gaming are; if not looking for 1080p60 ultra everything then can look at cheaper gpus to save money (for example).

also i would suggest getting psu and case locally, everything else is fine to buy export set.

I've decided to go down to SLS to get the case, cpu, mobo, psu and gpu. Will be getting ram and memory online.

CPU: AMD ryzen5 3600
Mobo: AS Rock B450M Pro 4
GPU: Zotac GTX 1660 Super

Not sure on what power supply and case to get. Anyone can help me out? Also if you think I should go for another CPU/Mobo/GPU please let me know too! Thanks!

Corsair and Seasonic are reliable PSU brands.

For mATX case....I have the NR400 and it's great.

That motherboard sucks. You can probably get a used 2060 super under warranty especially for zotac and palit for really good price in carousell

iirc all msi b450 boards have been oos in sls since b550 launched. ds3h sucks yes but to be fair it is fine for 6 core cpu. somebody did snag a steel legend from sls this week though so u can probably pm him which shop he got it from.

Update:

Completed my purchase today at SLS.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
MOBO: ASROCK B450 Steel Legend
GPU: Zotac RTX 2060 OC (super oos :()
PSU: CM MWE GOLD 550W
CASE: CM MB511 ARGB

Total Damage: $1050

Decided to go with ATX instead of mATX since most b450m boards oos.
Will buy memory and storage online and update after buying.

carousell

Not confident to buy second hand since first time.
