First time pc rig looking for advice

I'm planning to get a pc for 1080p at mid-high quality and capable of running most upcoming games so im not looking for anything fancy. As of now,i've considered getting the aftershock zeal at 1089 with OS.

Another set up i was considering is as below but would be worth the lack of warranty from aftershock and would be perform worse as i have no idea how to go about overclocking.

Toshiba 1TB 7200RPM
MSI GTX 1050
Cooler master 400w
Techware F3 elite
kingston 120gb ssd

Would really appreciate any opinions,my budget would be around 1k without OS. Could anyone also point me towards some affordable monitors to go with the rig?

Also, pls confirm with them what is their first year onsite definition. Is it die die fix the issue at your place or they come to your place and pick up your set to bring back for troubleshooting?

I would suggest get a minimum 1050ti instead of 1050.

The rgb lighting is free as part of their christmas promotion i believe. Is the performance difference significant between 1050 and 1050ti? I was told that if i wasnt going to overclock(since idk how),i should go for the cheaper 1050.

Why would you need to know how to overclock when getting 1050ti over 1050? Go to YouTube and search '1050 vs1050ti', my significant may not be your significant haha...

For gaming and in general, i would personally avoid ryzen. Go for i3 and you will have a peace of mind.

Ryzen is more for video renderers/cpu enthusiasts.

It's more worth going for gtx 1060 over 1050 according to performance over price ratio.

I've heard viewsonic have good budget 1080p ips monitors

I was considering ryzen since i heard its better value but never had prior experience with it so i should stick to intel? In that case should i pick out my parts and get it assembled for it or just go for the aftershock rebuild? Not really sure if i should shell out more for the better gpu since i dont really value quality of graphics over smooth gameplay

In US pricing, they are indeed better value in terms of full performance over price ratio.

But certain games may not take advantage of that and software support for ryzen is not as fully built as intel.

As a programming student here, I found out that the emulators in Android Studio do not support AMD cpus.

The ryzen option is pick at your own risk.

In that case, you can just go with gtx 1050.


I'm using gtx 650 here playing csgo, league in 1440p haha.

I'm not the kind who always wan high settings either.

I recommend increase ssd to 256gb.

More ssd space means more lifespan and more speed.


When you have limited space in ssd, things get rlly tough.

Yes, assembling everything in sls is not troublesome but when something goes wrong, would you wanna crack your head to troubleshoot that's the question. Go for it aftershock lor if you ok with their onsite warranty.

For this multiplier unoverclockable intel must as well get ryzen
At clock for clock an Intel might be slightly better but at price to price a ryzen is much better

You can leave it at stock clock for the same amount of money and still pwn an intel
Ryzen 5 pricing is similar to i3 pricing provided you don't get the most expensive boards
