first time to cold country

hi guys..i going to iceland in oct to nov.
so i asked around my friend.. which place to get winter clothes the cheapest..
and some of them told me.. i should just fly to the country and buy their winter wear as they are much more cheaper in sg

so. i like to check.. purchase in here cheaper or there... or since i will be lay over at paris. i buy the winter wear in paris is cheaper in iceland..

this my first time. so i really don't know anything. i dont know what tto wear too
and where to see the price for winter clothes

I would prefer to buy in Singapore. You will have more time to shop and you do need warming clothing likely immediately out of airport. Depdnding on your arrival time, shops may be closed. I believe many Singaporeans simply go with Uniqlo which is not expensive compared to European brands. Read up online on layering. I suggest bringing moisturiser. For an idea of an Icelandic brand and its price, look up 66 degrees North.

In the cases of China, Korea and even Japan, it may be cheaper to get your winter wear at your destination. For Iceland, I doubt it. You will need something for Paris before you get there.
It is not a matter of buying a single piece of clothing per person. You need layers on the top and the bottom for sub-zero temperature.

Since there are many months before your trip, you can shop online, at taobao, for instance. But you should visit a local shop to get an idea of how things fit.

can can.. thank alot my Paris layover time is about 7hrs+ only so i don think i will have enough time to buy clothes there i don really mind settle everything in iceland as i got 20+ days in there .. now most important is to do research on how and where to find the cheapest winter clothes... and i think is also very mafan cause few layer to buy one shot hahaha

You have checked the temperature for mid Oct ya?

Good luck if you can endure 2-7 degree Celsius.

I hope the savings you save can cover your medical bills and misery from being sick on the trip.

Can afford to go Iceland but want to be stingy on warm clothing and willing to risk falling sick and not be able to enjoy the trip.

Dump question. Do you guys change to winter wear in the plane or after departing the plane? Not sure with indoor heating airport terminal will be cold mah. Later in t-shirt and jeans then freezing and need to search for airport toilet..

toilets are everywhere in the airport. where got need to search? usually once you get out of the aerobridge, the toilet is right there already.

if it's going to be that cold in the airport, then the staff working in the airport how?
