Dear all

I am planning a two weeks trip to Japan sometime in early Nov. Likely to visit Tokyo, in particularly the Disneyland as well as Gotemba Premium Outlet near Mt Fuji. The objective is this trip to primarily to shop and secondly sightseeing.

Given that this is my first trip and I intend to do it free n easy within Tokyo area, hence would appreciate some feedbacks as to whether 2 weeks is too long. Moreover I note from some threads that it is possibly to stay overnite near Mt Fuji/Gotemba Premium Outlet. How much are the charges and is it worth the while. Thank you.

I think my wife can spend 2 weeks in Tokyo alone shopping with all the malls and complexes within each major station in Tokyo. Personally, I wouldn't do it, there's just too much things to do and explore in and out of Tokyo. 2 weeks does give you a lot of time to go as far up north as Aomori or down to Hiroshima. There's so much more to see, especially the autumn leaves if the weather is right.

There are some onsen resorts near the vicinity of Mount Fuji and Hakone. Try Japanican or Rakuten for Ryokans. Though it is now too early to check the prices as most accomodations of that nature are open for reservations at most 6 months prior.

2 weeks is not too long as there are plenty to see and do around the Tokyo area.

U can also stay at places outside of Tokyo like the Mt Fuji 5 lakes area and/or Hakone.

There are also places u can go overnight or do daytrips like Nikko.

The Izu peninsula is also very nice, good for a 2-3 day trip.
3 days is better.

Personally i feel that Gotemba premium outlet is over rated, things not very cheap and usually crowded but get to see mount fuji on a clear sunny day and the traveling time is just too much for a shopping area. The alternative outlet with a good selection will be in yokohama, afterwhich you can visit the chinatown, nissin noodles museum, red brick building, a very nice wedding church and if you want can take the ferris wheel at night.

There's Disneyland and Disneysea, the differences is that Disneyland more classic with lots of children rides and the Disneysea is the only in the world with sea concept with many exciting/adventurous ride.

Places you can visit will be shinjuku, ikebukuro, ueno, akihabara, shibuya, harajuku, ayoma, omotensando hill, odaiba, asakusa, rotemba, tokyo and many more despends your agenda

Thanks for the kind response. Is early Nov a good time to go though I note that there were some advice that late Nov to early Dec would be good. If possible, want to avoid the peak, esp the crowd.

Good time to go as in? If you mean avoiding peak season, yes its slightly less crowded since its not peak season in November. However its still Tokyo, there will be lots of people anyway no matter when.

And if you plan to do free and easy and not rushing to each place of attraction, then 2 weeks will be just nice.
