First time to Tokyo FnE

Hi guys I will be going to Tokyo last week of March doing FnE.
If I am going there for 6D5N just booking hotel at Tokyo is it ok?
My intention is to go on day trip out of Tokyo for 1 or 2 days, so no need to book hotel at other city?
For hotel if I book somewhere near Shinjuku is that good enough?
Any advise? Thank you.

6D is imho not enough for a leisure pace..alot of places to go and explore..so a day trip to hakone is gd enough.. Can consider Kawagoe also if you wan.

Should be ok to stay in Tokyo for your 6 days. However, if you haven't buy your ticket, I would suggest you to stay more days.

My 10 days Tokyo trip I also stay in the same hotel for 9 nites last month. Shinjuku area is good but a bit crowd.

I also my first time there free and easy.

During my 10 days, beside Tokyo city, I also went for day trip to:
- Yuzawa (snowing heavily when I went on Xmas eve)
- Kawaguchiko (to see mount fuji)
- Karuizawa (nothing much there)

With these 3 places - Yuzawa, Kawaguchiko and Karuizawa, I bought the 3 days Tokyo Wide pass at 10,000 yen. Quite worth for my trip because one way to Yuzawa is already 6000 yen. Below is the link you can refer to:https://www.jreast.co.jp/e/tokyowidepass/index.html?src=gnavi

If you have 10 days then i would suggest can perhaps do 2 day trip..If just 6/7 days, Tokyo more than enough..

My first trip i spend 4D, 2nd full 10D, 3rd 3D..

Tokyo itself is very big. My Tokyo trip last November - all 6 days at only city areas like Asakusa/Ueno/Shinjuku/Ikebukuro and its still not enough. I haven't even touch the typical day trips like Mt Fuji or Hakone etc.

I think for me, even 10 days also won't be enough. There's simply too many things in Tokyo to see/do in just one trip.
