Skyhop bus is a waste of time imo and could be better used by exploring more places. Japanican website is a good place to start discovering areas of your interests. They offer handy tips too. For Disneyland/sea, try http://www15.plala.or.jp/gcap/disney/ to plan your trip when its least crowded. Avoid weekends.

For a short trip, I suggest exploring Shinjuku, Shibuya and Odaiba but this depends on your interests. I was there a couple of years ago and saw lots of energetic locals with fancy costumes.

Hey I am going this year as well. Have you visited Tokyo previously? If not you can visit the more tourist area which I don't need to highlight.

Go to the expo early. The place is very crowded on Saturday and if any merchandise you want to buy from there is likely to be sold out (especially M and L sizes apparels). You can also visit the Odaiba area after the expo. There's the rainbow bridge, Aquacity, Diver City etc.

Since you are there only for a few days, i will not recommend Disneyland as you will need a full day there at least. If it is on a weekend, the queue will be horrible.

Hi zhirong, appreicate your reply.i have never visited japan before. So any kind of experience you could share with me would be most valuable!I will be arriving at haneda airport and staying at the grandbell hotel.Ok i shall try to go to expo immediately after arrival on 25feb.since i will be there for only a few days(25-29),i do not intend to travel far from shinjuku area.i shall try to visit the places you mentioned and purpleberry's recommendation too.frankly speaking, even looking at the subway map makes my head spin.so i think travelling around tokyo would be a problem....So please advise me if you have the time.Thank you in advance!and thanks to evilerniex too.another problem is what if i need to use my phone over there?

Last time I used to run rounds around the palace ... Lots of jap run laps there .... Each lap is ~5km ..... And during mar/April would be under cherry blossoms .... Jin nice.

If just in Tokyo, you don't need jrp..jrp is worth it if visiting Osaka from Tokyo and back..

Just a subway pass or a suica/pasmo card is good enough for Tokyo exploration..

Take Jr from shinjuku to shinbashi. At shinbashi change to yurikamome line. Its a short walk away. That'll bring you to Tokyo big sight
