Hi Bros, been trying to read up on travel from sg to BKK.
Any bros point me to a guide on arranging a trip to BKK (not as in places to go in BKK but as in arrangement) for a weekend trip, friday to monday - for example :

I have some queries hopefully any bros or sis would help me out here or point me in a direction to go :D
1 : which airport to book ? DMK or BKK ?
2 : is taxi from airport better or train?
3 : If taxi, how much is the taxi fare usually from DMK or BKK to a hotel near town. what are the extra charges ? Will i get scammed ?
4 : What taxis to take ? Do we need to specially mention run by meter ?
5 : What is the best timing flights to book to BKK ? (to avoid jams)

Help is appreciated :D

surnavmiburmi international airport
sq, tg, cx, 3k, tr
all lands there
is a bigger airport
there r many taxi queue at least 30 there ...
toll is 25 + 50b
have train to pratunam area at 40b
joruney is abt 35min
by cab to hotel pratunam area or sukvhumit area is abt 300b to 400b

dmk airport
airasia, scoot lands there
smaller airport, mostly domestic flight
their taxi queue very little abt 8
toll is 50 + 70b
no train there to anywhere, either cab or bus
the cab can be super long if u take scoot, coz many ppl land at that timing.
queue before for at least 25 min there with 8 queues

even u ask them on meter, my guess is they have a normal meter and a fast meter. have taken cab from airport to hotel, they on the meter also need 600b ... so be careful :)

based on my experience:
70% green yellow cab would go by meter
30% pink cab would go by meter :)
other color half half ba ...

fly to their Suvarnabhumi Airport
the train out is cheaper and very convenient

Hi, suggest you book bkk better compare to dmk.
2) if you alone can take train ba but if 3 or more maybe taxi more worth it.
3) should be around 300 to 40baht
4) yes some taxi dont wan on meter so better to ask first and if take from airport can take from departure hall better.
5) morning flight before ten am if possible

1. DMK is near to the city whereas suvarnabhumi is quite far.
2. Only suvarnabhumi has train to the city and its quite fast. But bear in mind some stations do not turn on their lifts so you need to carry your luggage down and up the stairs.
3. Typically about 300-400 baht with a surcharge of 50 baht and toll of about 50 baht I think. You will be given a piece of paper at the taxi stand
4. If you take the airport taxi stand it's usually quite ok, unless you just want to make sure you can check if they use meter.
6. As always avoid peak hour like morning and evening where people start and knock off work.

1. Depends where your hotel is. If you are staying near Ladphrao area, DMK is good. If other parts, BKK is good.
2. Taxi if your hotel location requires multiple transfer using train or if you are in a group of 3 or more.
3. Town where? Taxi by meter and additional THB 50 airport charge. There are a few "scam" cases like taxis tampering the meter or charge flat fees but they are the minority.
4. If you take from the airport, you go to the airport taxi stand. The counter staff will ask you where are you heading and pass you a slip and assign you a taxi. There are taxi details in the slip so if the driver play punk, you can lodge a complaint.
5. Morning peak 7-10am and Evening peak 5-8pm most jam. If you can avoid landing at these two periods to avoid stuck in traffic. Otherwise take the train but train is going to be crowded as well.
