first time DIY! would appreciate any help or advise i can get.

I have fixed all the components and cables in.
However, when i tried to power on, there was no video output on the monitor (using DVI).
The pc seemed to power on and off repeatedly.

I have tried to look at online troubleshooting, checked proper connections, but to no avail.

Below are my specs for the pc.

Mobo: GA-H97N-Wifi
CPU: G3240
RAM: Kingston ValueRam KVR16N11S8/4 1 x 4GB 1600MHz CL11 DDR3
HDD: WD 1TB Blue
SDD: Samsung 256MB
ODD: Samsung 24x
PSU: FSP 300-50HMN 300W 80+ ATX
Case: CoolerMaster Elite 130 Mini-ITX
Thermal compound used: Arctic Cooling MX-4

Current state:
- all fans work during power on
- ODD seems to be lighted up also
- keyboard and mouse do not seemed to light up

no idea what went wrong
:s11::s11::s11:

I have tried:
(1) Making sure the RAM is inserted all the way and the latched is able to close properly.
(2) Using a workable power cable for PSU to test whether the current power cable is faulty
(3) Changing the location of the RAM (only 2 slots)

did you slot in the ram correctly and completely till you hear a click?

i didn't fit my entire ram into the slot once and encountered the exact same problem as u

thanks for the advice =)

But the problem persists.

I have made sure the latch for the RAM was able to close properly.
I double-checked by removing it and putting it in again.

Reseat all connections and check that there is no excessive motherboard standoffs installed or any metal parts touching the motherboard. Your system may have a short somewhere.

No beeping sound?

Check if your pins are correctly placed, not shorted and not mixed up? Power reset and power switch pins.

Try HDMI cable to a TV since you are using the onboard graphic chip... To see if you can get a display screen.

If pins are correct. Repeated power on and off problems mainly point to a bad power supply unit. Test with different power supply unit. (Not cable, the entire unit).

I have a motherboard speaker, but can't seemed to find a place to connect it on the motherboard.
