Got my car since Sep but only found red tiny flies start appearing on my car 2 days ago. When I drove out no flies, but when I returned and park, immediately there are flies appearing. Cannot find any flies in the car and they are all on the top of my car and also bonet. No matter how many I killed, there are more appearing. Does anyone how to get rid of them? Can I wash my car with few drops of essential oil (like tea tree) as I saw flies are scare of some essential oil smell, but I am not sure whether it will spoil the paint

my wife's previous is250 had a similar insect problem. we do not eat in our cars. so we sent it for those fumigation and interior clean up for 100+$. the problem came back within weeks. went back to the shop and they suggested the same treatment again.

so someone suggested we wash the car mats. then leave the car and mats in the open on a hot afternoon for an hour or so. then wind down the windows and leave it there for another hour or something. lastly, place those ant and cockroach bait in the rear seats and trunk. the problem didn't come back thereafter. not quite sure why that works, but i hope it works for you.

I will be washing my car thoroughly during the weekend. Currently I am not able to find any flies inside the car, all the flies only found on the car top and car bonet. Funny thing is I been driving for almost 3 months, but flies only appear on last Sunday. When I drive out and parked elsewhere no flies, but the moment I stopped at my open air carpark, flies immediately appear.

Hopefully after I wash my car this weekend, the flies will be gone, else I will try fumigation.
