yeah I live here, Kyushu area.

Oh how's the situation in Kyushu now? Is everyone masking up and a lot of sick people?

I was in Tokyo just 2 months back (Dec 2024) and everything was perfectly normal. Lots of tourists, crowded place everywhere and no one seems unwell

Regardless, the world isn’t going into another circuit breaker. It would not be surprising if the widespread outbreak was actually driven by Tiong travelers, even though Japan seems to be the epicenter. Given how frequently the Tiong travel there, combined with their hygiene standards and the existing viruses in Japan, it could result in an even worse strain.

I feel it's very normal, pretty much back to pre-covid. got people wearing mask, got more people not wearing mask. I've not worn a mask since ... early 2023? end 2022?
lots of tourists as usual.

it's winter so a sneeze here, a single cough there is not unusual. once this cold front passes things should slowly start to warm up liao.

So wear mask is not working la?

so much for washing hand and masking up
Most ppl not wearing masks, based in personal exp i will still encourage mask wearing even after Covid and after this flu season. It should be the normal of way of life now.

Total fear mongering and rubbish article.

Given how prevalent influenza is

317k cases is just 0.2% of Japan's population.

Article also said average of 64 cases per health institution. Knn 64 is alot?

Our polyclinic probably see over 200 flu cases a day

The average of 64 cases per medical institution

U should take a look at the hospital & clinic to see if there's a huge crowd

This will give a better glimpse of the situation there

Different lah..
Japan has 13 beds per 1k ppl . Singapore only 2 per 1k ( wiki 2021)

Space constraints limit singapore ability to build more de.

Very likely. When you see the trongs of tiongs coughing/sneezing in public. Versus Japanesw that usually wears masks even when they are not sick.

Can easily tell what's what.

Cold weather better to wear mask wat .

Tiongs tourists lower ses it's norm .
