Hi I have booked 2 adult flybag round trip ticket with flyscoot for myself and friend. Each adult is entitled to 15kg of baggage. We had a checkin baggage each with mine weighing 4kg while my friend is at 14.8kg. My concern is with the return trip. My friend will definitely hit the 15kg limit.

Given that our tickets are made using the same booking id, would flyscoot accept that the combined weight of our 2 checkin baggages not exceeding 30kg in total and not charge her for the exceed weight?

Yap. Normally they will close one eye on that. Of course, do not exceed too much. You can separate the bags, so that it will not be so obvious that just one bag is more than 15kg.

Alternatively, take out the heavy stuffs and hand carry lor.

Buy more baggage if you are worried about the hefty baggage fees at the airport.

Ok, we depart from BKK last night. We check in 3 baggages (5kg, 5kg, 15kg) of a total of about 25kg once Scoot gate was open at the airport.

The unfortunate thing happened, 1 of the 3 baggages (5kg) was lost. That bag contains most of our shopping spree :'( It did not show up at Changi Airport baggage collection bag.

Filled up a form at Lost & Found at Changi Airport and was told that they will checked and called us.

What are the chances of recovery this lost baggage?

Your chances of recovering the lost baggage are pretty good, I think. It is a short-haul flight. Since you have filled up a form and was told that they will check and call you, just sit back and wait. I was in a similar situation last week. I retrieved the lost bag the day after.

No news of our bag :( Tried contacting BKK Airport and Fly Scoot, they all directed us to the Changi Airport SATS Lost & Found department. So we are still waiting patiently for their reply.

Our bag is still missing. Well, SATS lost and found dept took 5 days to investigate before referring us to Charles Taylor Aviation.

At Charles Taylor Aviation (CTA), they took another 5 days to email us requesting that we fill up a form so that they can start the lost baggage investigation on their end.

In the meantime, CTA also advised us to file a report with our insurance company NTUC. Both CTA and NTUC informed us that they need 30 days to investigate, so we are still waiting... We should be able to know their investigation finding by end July.

Our baggage was found! Delivered later. What a relief now! Good luck to you!

True. This can happen with any flight, any airline, any airport. Not many airports do the luggage tag check.

Yes, that possibility is quite high. We took our time at the DFS + long queue at the payment counter, so by the time we are at the belt, most baggages were collected and ours is missing.

Now I understand the reason why most people dash to the belt the moment they touch down from the plane. I shall be that kind of kiasu singaporean in future.

Normally I will rush to collect the baggages before going to DFS and take my time there.

Compared to the previous incidents of people stealing stuff from hand carry inside the flight, the luggage belt is an easier target. Just go up and grab some and walk away steadily before the owners come...

Good luck with your luggage.

Hmm the plot thickens...
Is anyone able to say whether the luggage arrived at Changi? Were you asked to describe your luggage in the investigation form? Will you be asked to watch CCTV footage of the baggage belt to point out your luggage and perhaps see what became of it?

Usually I try to be at the baggage belt early after arrival, knowing that at most airports, nobody verifies passengers against their luggage tags. For my recent case, my bag failed to make the flight, so the problem was at the departure airport.

Have a local forumer who has her 23kg luggage left in Taoyuan airport on the 10/7/2013 by scoot, so shevnt home empty-handed. So they found and delivered her bag to her house the next day.

Sounds like a blessing in disguise. Can go home emtpy handed, and get the airline deliver to your house.

SATS Lost and Found dept weren't able to advise if our bag has arrived at Changi Airport and they weren't very helpful. We had to call/email them then they will reply us.

We didn't request to check the CCTV too, I didn't know we can request for that.

We have sort of given up the hope of the bag arriving at our door step. Now we are waiting for Flyscoot/NTUC insurance claim. This process is tedious.

I had a lost baggage once while flying with Thai Airways. Felt a little panicky initially (first time it happened to me), but managed to calm myself down (I flew alone) and filed a report at the lost & claims counter. Showed them the luggage tag with barcode and all, gave description of the bag itself as well as a list of items that were in there. Travel insurance not claimable as it happened when I was already back in home country. So I only went home with my hand luggage. Good thing is all my important stuff are in my hand luggage, but the souvenirs and a couple of limited edition collectibles were in that lost baggage.

The next day, I received a call from them saying that they had successfully tracked my bag and apparently my bag has taken a detour to Sydney airport. -_-; some goondu airport staff loaded it into a connecting flight. >_>; so its gonna take the next flight available back to SG. Initially they said they will deliver it to me, but apparently my baggage couldn't pass the customs screening (there was a letter opener in the form of a miniature sword), so I had to go down to the airport and open the luggage for them to check on that. But ultimately I did get my luggage back, so I'm just thankful. I even joked that my luggage now has more travel experience than me... I haven't even been to Sydney before but it did! :s13:
