The noodles at Mak Man Kee taste pretty alright to me. I remember when the bowl came I was wondering where the wontons were. Turned out they were buried under the noodles. :D But one thing I'm curious, I don't recall seeing char siew with my noodles. Was it an add on?

Nope. I ordered 1 bowl of wanton noodles and 1 bowl of char siew noodles and mixed them up :s13:

Ah...haha. Didn't know they did char siew noodles. Most of the time I find that the roast meats and noodle stalls are separated. :/ Will keep that in mind next time I'm there. :D

The char siew not that nice actually. Best to stick to the wantons and go to places like Tai Hing and the likes for char siew/roasted pork imho :o

u had shin yeh in sg?...
i tried shin yeh in taiwan n the standard of foods there is so much better...:s22:
the orh jian was bagus n came wif not much flour...but then tw is the land of orh jian lolll

Yea the picture was from Shin Yeh SG. I didn't like Shin Yeh TW's food in general as it was extremely oily. Didn't try the orh jian there though.

edit: the best dish for me @ Shin Yeh TW was the free mochi at the end of the meal. So ironic :(

Just had this 一度赞 (红烧牛肉) instant noodle just now. BigMonkey got one bowl for me when he went to Taiwan last year.

There is something similar in the Expo's food fair called, IIRC,《满汉全餐》. They are selling 3 for S$10. The fair is till tonight.
