Hot Tomato's lunch deals not bad. Dinner more ex although it's the same thing. I tried the sirloin, grilled prawn and aglio combo. Cheap but nothing stood out.

My colleague's Mixed Grill minus the pasta. The meats may looked charred but it's still moist inside.

I have passed by Hot Tomato countless time but I never paid any attention to it until today. The foods are values for money even more so than Aston and the wait staffs attentive. Will definitely go back soon.

Next we went downstairs to this Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert for some refreshments.

Colleague's wife got her Almond Sesame Paste. Seem like they placed a divider before pouring in the paste and then took out after that so you have that distinct separation of black and white.

Moi Mango Aloe Vera Sago which I find it too watery.

Not sure. I haven't been to Orchard much since piglets are born.

The one I went to was the Nex outlet. The branch manager was a nice and friendly guy. Service is good.

I agree that the food is cheap and service is good. But Aston's steaks are better IMHO. I like the ribeye x-tra cut. So far the East Coast and Cathay outlets never fail me.

Me going back for the mixed grill which Aston don't have. For steak the ones at Aston I like. Same, I will ask for the x-tra cut if I ordered steak.

Skip the grilled prawns. They are huge, but a tad tasteless and quite dry.

He said pepper lunch's steak is better. That shows how creditable his taste buds are.

Also, I feel the normal steaks (those that comes on normal plates) at jack's place are inferior to Astons. Even those premium steaks (those that comes on hot plates) are on par with Astons. Price wise Astons wins.

Yes. That one should be hot tomato express. 313 Somerset got one outlet also. Imo taste better than causeway point.
