definitely canon. their lens range is very good. cheap and affordable models of body available too

Yes I bought it with a kit lens for $640 3 years ago. It was a grey market import with warranty only available in Korea. You may want to try it out with the kit lens first. When you know what focal length you prefer then choose another lens. This will apply to any interchangeable lens camera you buy. If its your first time shooting with a mirrorless or DLSR then the quality of photos you take will depend more on your skill.

Decide what you want from the camera and you'll make a better choice. Some things to think about:

1. Do you want a camera that can change its lens? Yes if you want expandibility and the ability to "grow" with your camera. No if you want maximum compactness and are unlikely to want to spend money on additional lenses.

2. How important is size and weight to you? Even amongst cameras that can change lenses, some are bigger (these tend to be DSLRs) and some are quite compact (these tend to be what you call "mirrorless" cameras).

DSLRs have a flipping mirror that allows you to look through the viewfinder and see a "live" image of your scene (think a pair of binoculars). Mirrorless cameras however give you an electronic image of the scene in the viewfinder (think of your smartphone camera) so the flipping mirror is unnecessary. Some mirrorless cameras don't even have viewfinders, just LCD screens.

Canon has both DSLRs and mirrorless (its EOS M range). Nikon doesn't seem to be interested in mirrorless cameras while Sony is very focused on mirrorless cameras.

3. Do you need a viewfinder or would you rely exclusively on the LCD screen? Not all mirrorless cameras come with viewfinders that add to size and weight.

4. Do you want a tilting /articulating touch screen that can even flip for selfies? Touch screens can be very convenient. In this regard, beware of Sony cameras like the A6000 or A6300 that do not have touch screens, neither can they flip 180 degrees for selfies.

5. Is transferring images to your smartphone important to you, so that you can send photos by WhatsApp, post on Facebook etc soon after taking your photo? If so, make sure your camera has Bluetooth /Wifi/ NFC connectivity functions. Most camera nowadays should allow for this but who knows? This is a deal breaker for me.

Factors like image quality, focusing speed and accuracy are also important of course, but for someone new to cameras and photography, it probably doesn't make much difference which major brand you pick. They are all generally competent.

i dont think i will wan it to expand coz if i get those can expand, i suppose the body must be good?

size and weight plays a part as i wont wann bring big bulky everywhere i go with my children.

i anything.. but if got viewfinder, i believe it add more unnecessary costs right?

thanks for this! i'm looking forward transfer easily to facebook/handphone (iphone) and yes.. i should and will look function like wifi type.
