I just got a call from 69890131 - a woman said she's doing a random number call to promote some Great Eastern product.

She does not know who I am. And the number she called is my secondary number which I don't use for any official communications (used for data only).

How come Great Eastern allows their agents to do such kind of marketing calls? Is this legal?

Or is it a potential scam?

Sorry sidetrack a bit. Just found out recently GE is not a small insurer. It is listed in SGX with a market cap of about 8 billion wow.

but is it legal? not infringement of PDPA meh?

and with the current scamming cases going on... isn't it very dangerous to do such a thing?

As you said, the called doesnt know your name so most likely they could be just calling random different numbers so there is no personal data leak as well.

dont think you can prove they infringing any law. unless you registered your number with national DNC registry and they still cold call you.

you can lodge complaint here
