(For GAMING) Should I upgrade my computer?

Hi! Hope someone can help me. I'm a tech noob and i dont know how long can my system can sustain to play newer games that are releasing this year (Like "For Honour" and going to buy Infinite Warfare)

I'm playing games like Call of Duty BLACK OPS 3 and im lagging like dam badly on the graphics (At medium). I cannot see the pixels properly and ppl are flying super fast.. i cant see due to graphics lag. Have tried tuning down but super blur.

My specs are: (And these are targeted parts to change)

CPU - i5 (2014 edition)
Graphics card - Nvidia 7700
RAM 8GB kingston (Not a gaming RAM is a generic one)

upgrade your gpu will most definitely help, also depends on whats your budget.
whats the screen resolution you going for.
most properly a gtx 1070 will be the most value

Theres two types of bitfenix prodigy, one is a mitx which has the mb flat above the PSU and another which is vertical as usual which is matx.

I used to use the matx case previously and the space inside is insanely tight. 1070 need to check if can fit as certain manufacturer custom fan etc may end up not fitting into the case.

For your upgrade, depending on your budget, most important is to change your gcard as it is pretty outdated. Increase your ram to at least 16GB and make sure your PSU can support the new gcard.

If budget no issue, then i suggest change to the new kaby lake and new mobo with ddr4 ram and new gcard / psu.

MB / Prc : i5 7600 and any H170 MB or i5 7600k and any Z170 MB if you gonna OC

The AIO water cooler got alot to choose from : Personally i always use Corsair H100i or H80i. Never given me any issues.

Gcard : Is up to your budget. 1070 more then enough for 1080p gaming.

Ram : Normal 16gb is enough. Or if you going to OC then need those with higher Mhz

Personally, I don't think you need to upgrade the whole system.

1. Upgrade your gpu. Remove your top hdd cages if you didn't use them. Almost all sizes of gpu can be fitted (180mm with hdd cages, 320mm without top hdd cages). Get like a gtx 1060 3gb for budget. As mentioned by others the GTX 1070 is better value if you can afford.

2. Upgrade ram to 16gb (optional, most likely you wouldn't need to if you're just playing games)

What power supply are you using and how much wattage it is?

And one last thing, IF you're not running ssd, do consider getting that too. Your com will be speed fast brand new.

But yeah.. due to budget i guess have to settle for 1060 3GB. I dont use some super high end gaming monitor anyways. so no need for 6GB as read from online post.

You won't see substantial performance boost with new CPU and motherboard. You using GTX 770 right? Your RAM is 1x8GB or 2x4GB?

bro thnx!! i really appreciate your reply and inputs on this. noted and i will look into it further. and yes my new ram will get a gaming ram with high mhz too.

and nope.. i want 1070 but budget holds me back so maybe just 1060. i will spend on an AIO cooler. im particular about temperatures.

oh ok! the ram is 2 x 4GB. is a normal kingston ram stick.

yes upgrading from i5 to an i7 and thinking of the 1060.

my 2 cents i'd go with a new graphic card which will work within ur psu power limits (maybe gtx1060 or rx480), and a ssd with fresh windows 10 install. mb and cpu still good i think, ram sufficient enough. upgrade 16gb ram if feeling2 rich
