The Bottom Line
Crypto is an exciting, explosive, speculative area of the market, and its future can’t be predicted with any certainty. Compared with the stock market, which is based on more predictable cash flows and earnings trends and still can’t be forecast with any degree of comfort, the crypto market is still the Wild West.

Yet, in many ways, predictions and beliefs in the crypto market can manifest into reality. Bitcoin was made up out of thin air by a still-unknown founder, yet it is now accepted as legal tender by at least one country (El Salvador) and is being accepted as payment by a growing number of merchants.

Dogecoin, which was literally created as a joke, now has a market cap of $22 billion, and the crypto market as a whole broke the $3 trillion market cap level in November.

So, whatever you believe about crypto in general, there’s no denying that the asset class is gaining in both size and popularity, trends that seem likely to continue into 2022.

https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/042315/beware-these-five-bitcoin-scams.asp

What are some claims that may be warning signs of a potential crypto scam?

According to the Federal Trade Commission, look for tall claims like these to help spot companies and people to avoid -
  • A guarantee that you'll make money: don't believe such promises as they indicate a scam, even if there's a celebrity endorsement or testimonials, since these can be easily faked.
  • Big payouts with guaranteed returns: "Guaranteed" returns are a big red flag.
  • Free money: Whether in cash or cryptocurrency, free money promises are always fake.
  • Big claims without details or explanations: Be very skeptical about such claims.

Hi like to know more on how to trade cryptocurrencies too... am new to this! Any recommendations to some good reliable platforms with low transactional fees?? :p

Is it really worth while to buy in? Alot of my colleagues are buying in but i just feel this whole crypto stuff seems so risky... some coins are just scams, anytime the person who started the coin can just shut it down and run off, maybe even the popular ones like bitcoin etc... 🤷‍♀️

u hav to see yrself whether u wan to trade crypto and not juz follow whoever is trading. if u afraid they run road, u can alwys choose an exchange regulated by MAS and 2) after buy straight away transfer to cold wallet. some ppl dun transfer to cold wallet becoz they can earn yield in the platform.
