UK side now little very exciting, say virus mutate and the deal like one moment OK, one moment not.

Crossbow Hunter's take for this week-

GBP pairs.

It seems that the virus situation in the UK is pretty bad at the moment, lockdowns and flights being cancelled. This is adverse news for the GBP.

On the other news front, Brexit deal talks seem to be somewhat moving but the talks about fishing seems to hit a snag. Mildy negative for GBP in my opinion.

On technical fronts, the two GBP pairs that I was looking at both closed under bulls' target. Cable closed under 1.3520 while GBP/AUD closed under 1.7760, two key areas that I marked out for bullish continuation.

GBP pairs gapped up by about 100 pips on Monday's opening last week and continued on a rampage rally. Would it be possible that these gaps would be closed this week with the bad news?

I am expecting a gap down on GBP pairs later but I could be wrong.

Actually, I don't see how vaccine will bring down Cable definitively.

Vaccine is good news for USD, but vaccine is good news for the market as a good. That means risk on, which can also bring about a rally in XXX/USD, ie. Cable. I think it can go either way to be honest.

But right now the Covid situation in UK seems jialat.

I am long FTSE100 on a margin loan, so I am actually short GBP. I hope GBP crashes and FTSE100 rise, as FTSE100 derives 75% of its earnings from outside UK.
