Weekly Forex Market Outlook: (MAR 5-9, 2018)

EURUSD:

Technical Outlook: The EURUSD was seen posting declines last week but price action reversed those losses towards the latter part of the week. The overall trend remains flat with prices recovering the declines from the early part of the week towards Friday’s close. The EURUSD was seen rising back to the breached resistance level at 1.2331 – 1.2326 level on Friday. We expect to see a reversal taking place at this level as the EURUSD is expected to resume the short term declines. With the retest of the lower support at 1.2070 still pending, we expect to see the declines coming through. The bias changes in the event that the EURUSD manages to close above 1.2362 resistance.

Fundamental Outlook: Data from the Eurozone is quiet with the week ahead shifting focus to Thursday’s ECB meeting. The meeting will see officials releasing the quarterly projections as well. Following the EU commission’s forecasts, officials are expected to remain upbeat on growth. However, inflation and unemployment remain two main weaknesses for the ECB. The January meeting minutes released few weeks ago showed that central bank officials were reluctant to change the language on forward guidance. This could potentially indicate a somewhat toned down meeting this Thursday.

Weekly Forex Market Outlook: (MAR 5-9, 2018)

GBPUSD:

The GBPUSD took another dive and extended the previous losses. We find support at key support level 1.3770 but as long as we trade below the big psychological number 1.4000 we should expect the bearish momentum to prevail. The bounce from 1.3770 should be short lived and a break below last week low should open the door for a retest of the 1.3550 and the round number 1.3500.

The stochastic indicator is in neutral territory but we’re moving upwards suggesting that the rally can find sellers once we have a crossover to the downside. We shouldn’t see GBPUSD break above 1.3900 otherwise a daily close above it can open the door for a retest of the 1.4000 round number. There is no major risk events scheduled on the UK economic calendar. We can mention the UK Markit Services PMI figures scheduled on Monday and on Friday we have the UK Manufacturing Production figures followed by the Trade Balance numbers. We should expect a more technical driven GBPUSD during the coming week.

Weekly Forex Market Outlook: (MAR 5-9, 2018)

USDCHF:

Technical Outlook: The USDCHF managed to post some gains but price action reversed the losses near the 0.9455 level of resistance. We see the potential for an inverse head and shoulders pattern to emerge following the decline off the resistance level. Watch for a higher low being formed which could potentially form the right shoulder. A breakout from 0.9455 which will become the neckline resistance could put USDCHF on path for gains toward 0.9611.

Fundamental Outlook: The economic calendar is virtually empty for Switzerland during the week ahead. However, the USDCHF will be driven by a data heavy week from the U.S. For starters, the ISM non-manufacturing PMI is due Monday with the week also scheduled to report on the private sector hiring. ADP and Moody’s analytics will be releasing the monthly ADP report on Thursday and this will be followed by the monthly non-farm payrolls report on Friday.

Weekly Forex Market Outlook: (MAR 5-9, 2018)

USDJPY:

Technical Outlook: The USDJPY remains week with the stronger Japanese yen outperforming the U.S. dollar. Price action continues to briefly retest the falling trend line only to resume the declines once again. By Friday’s close, the USDJPY was seen trading near the 105.78 – 105.42 level where support has been formed. This could potentially mark a reversal in the near term. However, USDJPY will need to breakout from the trend line in order to establish the upside trend. Watch for a dip after the breakout for USDJPY to signal a move towards 108.43.

Fundamental Outlook: Economic data from Japan for the week ahead is quiet. However, focus shifts to Friday’s Bank of Japan monetary policy meeting. The BoJ left monetary policy unchanged at the previous meeting as it pushed back inflation expectations suggesting that there could be no major tweaks to the BoJ’s policies in the near term. Investors will nonetheless focus on the forward guidance for any clues on whether the central bank will ease back on its QE purchases. Consumer prices in Japan have been rising, albeit at a slower pace. Officials at the BoJ however expressed concerns previously about the downside risks to prolonged QE purchases.

Weekly Forex Market Outlook: (MAR 5-9, 2018)

USDCAD:

The USDCAD technical pattern has reached an important resistance level at 1.2916 which is also the last week high. As long as we trade below 1.2916 we should expect to see the market retracing some of the previous gains. However a break above can open the door for more upside and possibly a retest of the big psychological number 1.3000 which should provide us with a reaction lower. On the downside we can mention two intraday support levels at 1.2760 and 1.2688. Minor reactions off of these levels can be expected. The stochastic indicator is in oversold territory which supports the bearish case.

The Canadian economic calendar has some high risk events that can disrupt the market volatility. On Wednesday, we have the BOC interest rate decision and based on the market consensus we should expect no changes in the interest rates policy. The rate decision is followed by the BOC rate statement which should be extremely volatile news event. Friday we also have the unemployment rate which can be the catalyst for some volatility.

Weekly Forex Market Outlook: (MAR 5-9, 2018)

AUDUSD:

The Aussie has fallen short of reaching our key support level 0.7625 which indicates that after current intraday bounce is over, we can expect another attempt to break lower and possibly find support at 0.7625. On the upside, the first important resistance level remains at 0.7800 followed by the intraday support 0.7880. The line between the bullish and bearish trend remains the big psychological number 0.8000. As long as we trade below it we should expect the bearish momentum to prevail. The stochastic indicator is in neutral territory and it doesn’t suggest any extreme behavior in the overall trend.

The Australian economic calendar comes with plenty of risk events that can disrupt the market volatility. Monday we have the Labour Day so we should expect low level of trading activity. Tuesday, we have one major piece of risk event as the RBA is about to announce its interest rate decision. On Wednesday, the GDP for the last quarter of 2017 will hit the market. On Thursday the Trade Balance are scheduled to be released while Friday will bring the Chinese CPI inflation figures.

KIWI TECHS: Above 21-DMA To Gain Breathing Room...

KIWI TECHS: Above 21-DMA To Gain Breathing Room

*RES 4: $0.7345 - High Feb 26
*RES 3: $0.7318 - Hourly resistance Feb 26
*RES 2: $0.7291 - 21-DMA
*RES 1: $0.7279 - High Mar 2
*PRICE: $0.7224 @ 2030GMT
*SUP 1: $0.7176 - 200-DMA
*SUP 2: $0.7130 - High Jan 2 now support
*SUP 3: $0.7089 - 100-DMA
*SUP 4: $0.7043 - High Dec 26 now support

*COMMENTARY: A bullish key day reversal emerged after the bounce from ahead of the 200-DMA. Bulls look for a close above the 21-DMA to gain breathing room and above $0.7385 to target $0.7438-0.7558 where 2018 & 2017 highs are situated. Bears still need a close below the 200-DMA to hint at a move back to $0.6952 and then $0.6779 2017 lows. The Bollinger base is noted at $0.7170 and is the key concern for bears.

Stock futures point to sharply lower opening after Wall Street-friendly Cohn resigns - https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/06/sto...-after-wall-street-friendly-cohn-resigns.html

Alamak once this news came out, US toilet paper weaken UJ drop 50 over pips straight

Yes all trades must reverse direction now. :s13:

Actually wanted to long NZD/USD but now I short it.

AUD/USD and NZD/USD behave differently from other USD pairs due to commodities factor.

Volatility is good for lousy traders like me. Positions can recover faster due to prataing. Best is price action take out all the tight stops and throws the market into a frenzy. I like it when there is market confusion. From past records I make the most money when the market is volatile. :D

Due to my NO STOP LOSS strategy the price can push 500 pips against me I also do not care haha. Time and time again I have proven the big boys will be too humji to push too far. I play with peanuts 6 figures contracts but they play with billions. In theory they will be more humji than me. :s13:

USD/JPY

Time to sell USD/JPY?

You are selling into the upside if market prata unless can break below 105.0! If not you have to stock up Po Chai pills liao! A few of us here have already stocked up at least one carton and prepare for the worst! :s13:

Personally at the 105.XX level I will buy not short. Due to the trade tariffs issue the market will be volatile. Take profit every 10-20 pips. Re-enter at a lower level from your last entry price and keep on scalping as it breaks lower.

Swing trade is a waste of time in times like this. You literally see your precious 50-80 pips gain suddenly reversed into negative territory. Eg. Cohn kor kor resignation news at around 7am this morning.

First half of 2017 is good for me due to the Trump trade. Second half of 2017 is lousy for me due to lack of volatility.
