I think alot of people's account got wiped out today.
That could be possible, esp those who long above 1.2 with stops below it.
I've heard of 1000pips slippage.

True true, I actually did 66% TWICE on two accounts separately. So technically its 120%+ in 3 weeks. However, I will definitely follow your advice by managing risk. I am a day trader. I hold positions for more than 12 hours. So I may risk for a huge whipsaw.
Thanks again!
Yap just wow! ~1400++ pips movement in a single day. In my 8 years of currency trading, i never see a single day movement of such.
Those caught in the wrong direction, don't think anyone can stand a 1400+ pips stop.

Such occurrences had happened before and will be happening, Swiss intervention few years back. Yen as well.
This is the power of maximum adversity. And our trading plans have to get it covered. I can withstand a rare drastic movement of 1000+ pips, with diversified portfolio and money management.
I am not in the market though. Exited awhile back after bagging some big trends.

All sort of dirty tricks from MM. Like all swiss currency trade halted which include open positions, margin call becomes negative account etc. Maybe this can be an example to all newbie who wanna trade currency, u r just playing with backend MM...It would depend on their position sizing relative to their accounts.
I'm glad none of us are affected here.

This kind of gap how pros handle? Or is it confirm hong kans?
I am not a pro, but I think this kinda event, stop lose also cannot help you. I took a look at the 1Min chart and i goes "wow, wonder how much slippage can someone get from this "
Read from forum, spread went as wide as thousand over pips, open position freeze and locked even hrs after the incident, margin call for account and also ended negative account, some ended -100k++ in account ...
Pple has to understand, the stop is not a guaranteed stop. Every open order has to be upset by a close order. At times like this, no one wanna take your close order thus u will end with an open position and thus suffer the maximum impact ...
IG has guaranteed stop.
