format a hdd with OS in it

hi all

i change my hdd to an ssd.

so my prevous hdd with os in it, i want to use it as an storage.

can i just format it or i need to somethings before that?

previously i tried to format an hdd with os in it and it became corrupted.

Yes, connect as secondary drive and format as usual. You may want to use HDTune to scan (do not check Quick scan) for bad sectors as it is a used drive.
