Free tax items clearing at custom

How does the officer check the free tax items?
Is that after clear the custom then another counter to check those items?
Because I bought the items and paid together in one receipt with my friend. We have to unbox those items and keep them individually. Wondering if the custom need us to open each luggage and check again the receipts stamped in the passport.

Zero chance. They never ever check

Normally i rip off those tax free plastic bag and put it in my check in luggage

So far they don't usually check but of course they reserve the right to do so.

Not to worry unless the amount is huge

Do put inside check in luggage though

As long don't exceed $600, should be okay when return to sg. The shops usually will put the tax free receipt in the passport itself.
