Using government money to buy discretionary items (phone, tv, car, appliance, restaurant, movie theater, etc) is the best thing you can do to help the economy.

Using the money to buy food, pay rent/mortgage, and saving will not help the economy grow.

Singapore politician needs to take basic 101 economic class.

Giving money to citizen increase inflation. That's the entire purpose of handling money to citizens.

If Singapore government want deflating all they have to do is stop foreigner from buying properties and stop importing migrants.

The fact is Singapore inflation is less than 1%. Singapore is near a deflationary death spiral. Importing lots of migrants and allowing rich foreigner to buy properties isn't raising inflation and is making average Singaporean life more miserable.
