Why does IWDA have a 5-star Morningstar rating while VT has a 3-star Morningstar rating?

The star rating is not very important and more about marketing than anything else. Best to read the full report. By the way VT is 3-stars but holds a "Silver" analyst rating. You can read up to understand the difference between their star rating and the gold/silver/bronze rating.

Roughly (pls read up to confirm), the star rating for funds/ETFs (note: stocks are different rating system) is backward looking against peers while the gold/silver/bronze rating is forward looking.

Hi guys. Planning to switch from POSB IS to FSM for my G3B. I tried to add a top-up plan to auto pull money from DBS account to my FSM account every month but I can't seem to find DBS from the list of banks..Or will Post Office Savings Bank do just fine? Thanks!

I popped into FSMOne expo, collected various freebies like free umbrellas from Franklin Templeton and LionGlobal, FSM shopping bag with cat picture, ate free ice cream. "VIP lounge" reminded me of our typical local priority/premier banking centres - bunch of elderly uncle/auntie taking the free coffee and reading newspaper.

At the Lionglobal booth, there was quite a bit of publicity on their All Seasons Fund, which I suppose is a good thing - ie. they are still trying to grow their AUM - it hasn't hit $100m yet, and $100m is what some say is the 'viable' amount for a fund.
The main talk where FSM 'analysts' were selling their 'star ratings' was impressively full, all seats taken, standing room only.

Yet the ratings have hardly changed much since 2008, they have always loved China and Asia ex-Jpn more than the developed world markets. I have to confess that I have been influenced by the bullishness of China which accounts for why First State Greater China is one of my top holdings in my portfolio and why Greater China is about 15%+ of my portfolio :s13:

FSM has been bullish on Asia and bearish on US since 2010. Their star rating has given USA 2 stars and Hong Kong 5 stars since 10 years already.

Any recommended ETF on FSM?

ES3, SGX listed ETFs have flat $10 fee until march. I have $200k in SSB, I want to deploy it in ES3, waiting for a pullback. Can we have one please?

i am starting RSP on FSMOne with 2800.HK first. I am already vested in 2800.HK so plan to use RSP to slowly DCA to accumulate more.

I'm also interested in Asia ETFs but unfortunately, the iShares Asia ex-Jpn ETF 3010 is HKD currency but declares US$ dividends, making reinvesting a pain. The vanguard equivalents (2805 or 3085) are more logical, shares and dividends both in HKD. Hoping that FSM will offer vanguard ETFs as well.

Hi, is this now better than DBS cash upfront if buying 3 counters per month from SGX?

Do Hong Kong domiciled ETFs (like 2800.HK) have dividend withholding tax? If yes, how much?

It's good for investors that the FSMOne's "Dividend Handling Fee" for HK-listed ETFs is "No Charges".

So if I buy 100k of mbh, I'll attain silver status and can enjoy flat $10 commission even after promo ends?

This is awesome. I only wish FSM became a full service broker and offered leverage and options trading too. It is such a waste to keep like 200k worth ETFs and then not sell some put options or covered call options.
