is anyone able to post new trades on fms? Mine kept saying account under review for SGX trading when i have been using it for 2-3 months? Getting ridiculous

Yes today I placed a sell order on FSM. premarket open.

Keep giving the error. And when I finally managed to place the sell , it took a minute and a half for them to place the order.

Will montior again.

I have a fsm account for years when I bought UT last time. But after I sold them off, I have been inactive for more than 7 years. I only recently reactivated my account again which took me less than 2 days. Guess it's not what you are asking
may I ask if there is any maintenance fee or regular charges if it is non-active? Like the last few year that you were not buying/selling anything, do they charge? tks.

Hi everyone, thinking of doing RSP for VT (VANGUARD TOTAL WORLD STOCK INDEX FUND ETF SHARES) in FSMOne. And doing a comparison if I were to invest it on IWDA or other US ETFs using SCB instead:

MY RSP Monthly: SGD100 which translates to about USD70.4 (Using their current today forex rate)
Commission Fee per RSP: 0.08% ~ USD1 (Minimum Fee)
Amount of Money I will be investing in 1 Year = 70.4 x 12 = USD 844.8
Dividend Charges in 1 Year = 2.5 x 4 = USD 10
Amount of Commission Fee in 1 Year = USD 12
Net Amount = 844.8 - 10 - 12= USD 822.8
So the cost of using FSM is roughly about = (10+12)/ 844.8 = 2.6%

I was considering between doing this against buying IWDA using SCB (investing per quarter)
Let's say using SCB - (Assuming same forex rate)
Amount of Commission Fee in 1 Year: 4 x USD10.7 = USD 42.8
Amount of Money will be invested in 1 Year = USD 844.8
Dividend Charges in 1 Year = 0 (IWDA will auto reinvest dividend)
Net Amount = 844.8 - 42.8 = USD 802
The cost of using SCB is roughly about = 42.8/844.8 = 5.1%

Therefore, it looks like it's more cost effective to invest in US ETFs using FSMOne?
Partly because I would only invest SGD1200 in a single year.
Am I missing any other consideration?

If you buy US listed ETF I think you are liable for 30% WHT.

I think buying UK listed IWDA attracts less WHT about 15% as it is incorporated in Ireland.

After much consideration, i hv decided to switch my IWDA (SCB) to VT (FSMOne RSP). I'm fully aware of the witholding tax and estate tax issue with US ETF, but the cost saving is quite significant.

As I am investing S$800/mth for IWDA/VT, this is my comparison.

1) SCB forex spread = 0.4%, FSMOne forex spread = 0.25%
2) SCB brokerage fees = $10.7 * 4 (batch 3 mths), FSM brokerage fees = $1.07 * 12
3) IWDA witholding tax = 15%, VT witholding tax = 30%. Assuming dividend at 2% pa, the saving from IWDA is 0.3%. (corrected)
4) IWDA TER = 0.2%, VT TER = 0.09%
5) FSMOne has dividend handling fees of $2.5 per dividend. So its $10 per year of dividend loss.

Based on the above number, I use the spreadsheet created by another forummer, VT annual fees is S$43 (include dividend handling fees) vs IWDA S$96 (didn't include opportunity cost).
However, this comparison only applicable to my case.

If it is less than US$2.50, they will deduct whatever that was issued... That's what happened to my RSP on VT which issued dividends last month or 2 months back...

you can scroll back and read up on these discussions also

How to verify bank account? New user here.

Deposited $100, withdrawing $50 to test before depositing all the remaining.

Withdrawal around 3-4 days ago but have not received the money.

FSM withdrawal is a bit on the slow side, but not to worry. Its not something new, otherwise you can see all the scam post already.

I started my RSP for ES3 and VT since Feb this year...

ES3 down 7.84%
VT down 4.29%

The purchased price for VT in Feb is really high...If I started in Mar, it might be in the green today or down a bit...
